“Let today be the day you give up who you’ve been; for who you can become.” – Unknown

I found this quote to be so inspiring and encouraging for this season of lent that has just begun.  I’m not going to get too deep because I’m not trying to push my beliefs on anyone and don’t want it to come across that way.  But if you know me, you know my relationship with Him is the most special part of my life and I do whatever I can to give the glory back to Him.  Lent is about simple living, prayer, fasting, and sacrifice in order to grow closer to God.  Traditionally you give up, or “sacrifice”, something during Lent.  I am doing that, but also adding 4 things in it’s place.

  • What I’m giving up: TV – cable, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc.
  • What I’m adding in it’s place: 30 min devotional each day, more reading for fun, fasting one day a week, and attending/live stream church EVERY Sunday

Do you observe Lent? If so, I would love to know what you gave up and we can help hold one another accountable!

Thanks for stopping by!

    • LOVE this gal! Power to you for giving up TV. I’m giving up body shaming myself, no negative comments allowed. Coin in a jar each time it happens and prayer. I’m adding a devotional series that lasts all of Lent. Excited for this journey! And excited to see how yours goes!!

I am giving up calling myself fat! Sounds strange I know — but want to focus more on self love and body positivity!

    • You are so pretty! Love this great neutral bag. I’ve been looking for the perfect nude bag!

Love this post! Love adding devotional time in lieu of tv!

    • I love the idea of adding something to make up for what you are taking away! I have been toying with giving up useless time on social media and trying to stick to my devotionals / journal daily!

that is such a great quote and so inspiring!
      also loving your outfit! <3

    • First of all, these shots are gorgeous, girlfriend! Secondly, I’m loving what you’re doing for Lent. I’ve never participated, because I mostly grew up non-denominational so it wasn’t really observed, but fasting certain things in life is necessary no matter the season, I think, and drawing closer to Him in whatever way you can is so important. I’ve been listening to sermon podcasts every morning while I do my hair and makeup and it is the best way to start my day!

    • Love this post, Morgan! This year, I’m giving up sweets (which I do every year but it’s such a sacrifice for me) and also reading a chapter of the Bible each day!
