Happy Travel Thursday!  Is that a thing?  Well, we’re going to make it a thing 🙂  2017 will hold lots of travel opportunities for me and I want to try and share all of them with you!  Starting with the cruise my family took this Christmas/New Year’s to the Western Caribbean.  Sharing some snapshots from each island, what we did, and what I recommend.  Are any of you traveling to these islands in 2017?!  Let me know in the comments below!  And please feel free to ask more questions if there’s more info you want to know.

My AWESOME parents rented a catamaran for the family while in Cozumel and this was easily my favorite part of the trip!  The crew took us snorkeling, a few of my siblings jet skied, they made us lobster ceviche + fish salad + guacamole, we had a dance party on the nets, and my champagne cup was never empty.  LIFE WAS GOOD!!

Grand Cayman

Beach Day at Tiki Beach. This was such a relaxing day, and the food and drinks were bomb!  This island was the most “Americanized” with fast food places, large grocery stores, shopping, etc but that somewhat appealed to me.  My sister said she prefers the more underdeveloped islands ((like Belize and Costa Maya)) so this would not necessarily be her first choice to re-visit.  Thought I would share that info because everyone has a different vision their vacation! #toeachtheirown

Costa Maya

We did the Salsa Experience where we learned how to make salsa and THE BEST guacamole I’ve ever had.  We also learned how to salsa dance!!  Only the older kids went on this excursion but it was definitely family friendly and SO fun!  Highly recommend!  After the experience, we had some Dirty Monkeys and Pina Colada’s at the swing bar of course.  Oh the island life!

Overall we had a fabulous vacation and were very impressed with the cruise!  Our ship was a bit older so keep that in mind.  But honestly, that doesn’t matter to us because we spend so much time off the ship, and when we’re on we’re mostly sleeping!  Haha.

Hope you enjoyed this travel post and let me know in the comments below if you have any questions!

    • This trip looks like it was so fun! Learning how to make salsa/guacamole sounds is making me hungry and I am so jealous of your catamaran day trip. An always full champagne glass is the best kind! 😉
