These pictures were taken in the mountains of NC at Moses Cone Manor. I’m not much of a history buff, but the story behind this place is pretty cool and “close to home” so I wanted to share.
I was actually born at Moses Cone hospital in Greensboro, NC so when my friend, Sarah, told me we would be visiting Moses Cone Manor on our trip to Boone, NC a few weeks ago I was very intrigued! The Manor itself is a 20-room, 13,000 square foot home with beautiful white columns and a stunning staircase up to the wrap-around porch. But what really had me in awe were the grounds and stunning views down the 25 miles of carriage trails. We of course didn’t hike all of that though haha! I barely work out and more than 5 miles of hiking would probably have killed me, ha! Mr. Cone was a huge philanthropist throughout NC and I love that his memory is still preserved today in such a beautiful place like this.
Now, onto the outfit. As I’ve said many times before, even when you’re doing things that aren’t so “glamorous”, it is still very possible to look nice and like you know what you’re doing! 😉 The minute Sarah and I decided we would do a little hiking while at Moses Cone Manor, I pictured this outfit! Only problem was that I didn’t own a proper fall baseball cap or excursion vest. What was I thinking?! Thank goodness for online shopping and quick shipping! Do y’all have a J Crew excursion vest? If not, you’re missing out!
Thanks for stopping by!
