My family traveled to Belize a little over a week ago for Thanksgiving break! It was the most perfect family vacation and I am already looking forward to the next time we go back! When we travel to Belize, we stay on the island of Ambergris Caye in a resort property where my parents own a condo. There is a beautiful pool and a breathtaking view of the ocean from each rooms balcony! I mean does it get any better?! #lifeisgood
The “pace of life” down there is VERY laid back so when visiting I usually adopt that philosophy as well. I do a lot of chillin’ by the pool, reading, sipping local beers and cocktails, and gettin’ my tan on! That is mostly what I did this trip but also wanted to share with y’all my 2 favorite activities we did in case you are considering ever taking a trip to Belize! Plus a couple of highlights at the end of the post!
[ Bar crawl ]
Dad, the 3 big kids, and Evin ((our “chaperon”)) headed out on our 2nd to last day to do a bar crawl. Our condo is on the south end so we just walked down the beach and stopped into any beach bar that looked like a good time ((haha)) until we made our way up to the north end. It was SO FUN and I definitely recommend doing this on a sunny day when you are in the mood to day drink and relax. We stopped at Crazy Canuck’s, Hurricane’s, Sandbar, Wayo’s, Coco Loco, and Palapa bar!
[ Sailing ]
Both of my little sisters, Evin and Elli, have their sailing licenses so it was kind of a no-brainer that this would be one of the activities we would indulge in. The wind was a little rough but Evin still managed to give us a fun ride and keep us from capsizing. I was incredibly proud of her and enjoyed watching her in action! She loves being on the water and you can tell!
[ Highlights ]
Favorite place to eat – Melt
Paddle boarding with beers
Best coffee – Rum Bean
Favorite alcoholic drink – Dirty Banana
Best dessert – DandE’s ((Frozen custard))
Feel free to leave questions in the comments below if you have any! And be on the lookout later this week for an Instagram round-up from the trip.
Thanks for stopping by!
